The Explorer’s Edge is bright and roomy, named in tribute to the exploration treasures that are Parrsboro and the Fundy Shore region. Our area abounds in Mi’kmaq legends of time immemorial when the great Glooscap (good), the culture hero, transformer of the Eastern Woodlands Indigenous people. roamed this area, once called Awokum (“portage”). Fishing and lumber boats still brave the famous tides in the harbour, while back in the early 1800s-1900s, Parrsboro had a golden age of sail that produces more than 700 vessels. Beautiful structures were raised by shipbuilders, businesses and mercantile flourished as communities grew because of the shipbuilding and logging work. Today Parrsboro is known as a vibrant tourist destination and nature explorer’s dream from walking to hiking to kayaking to picnicking. There are gorgeous trails, magical caves, mystical waterfalls, and heart stirring shorelines and lookouts to explore as well as ancient geology, including glorious minerals, dinosaur fossils and desirable gems to uncover. At dusk, our skies are a canvas of entwined corals, pinks, yellows and mauves as the sun goes down while the night sky is clear and magical painted with a silvery moon and brilliant stars that cast a light of enchantment. This room features a splendid hickory queen size sleigh bed, a classic marble fireplace and a four-piece en suite bath. 3) Beachcomber’s Dreamland

Elegance and space describe this room, which is named in honour of our expansive seacoast and breathtaking, powerful tides that are the highest in the world. And when the tide is low, where else can you walk on the ocean floor, find beach glass and maybe even be fortunate enough to find some local minerals. Our ethereal sea salt green walls, evoking healing and peaceful feelings, accentuated by crisp white linens on a queen size mahogany bed, just might ease you into saltwater dreams of white caps dancing on the cresting waves as lovely, summer breezes soothe you or autumn winds invigorate.

The Artisan’s Stage has a blend of traditional and contemporary with soft sea salt tones that evoke elegance and contentment, with a dark walnut modern sleigh bed, nights stands and a charming armoire. This cozy room faces our pretty front lawn with a wonderful view of Parrsboro’s signature Main Street. It pays tribute to the wealth of creatives and visionaries in Parrsboro who give our little town such vibrancy, personality and uniqueness. The Ship’s Company Theatre offers outstanding live theatre and 2024 marks the 40th anniversary of performances and productions that have uplifted us, moved us and entertained. The calibre and reputation of our seaside theatre ranks among the best in Atlantic Canada. 

Parrsboro and the surrounding area is also home to visual and fibre artists that captivate us with their talents and imagination as well as many gifted musicians. “The Hall” features both local and nationally renowned performers and is home to a popular film festival. The Art Lab Studios on Main Street hosts multiple artists combining working studios, retail space and a venue for learning various art forms through exhibits, courses, demonstrations, events as well as interactions with working artists. Our town bursts with incredible talent as we host Canada’s largest plein air festival with artists who are inspired by Parrsboro’s ever changing scenic beauty. Parrsboro is home to bountiful harvest from our fields, forests and sea. There are our world class lush blueberries, juicy strawberries and divine maple syrup. And of course, tender, sweet lobster, succulent scallops and tasty clams. Our summer and fall harvests offer distinct fresh flavours of homegrown fruits and veggies and often local eateries throughout the region and province create unique desserts and salads from each season’s delicacies. Don’t miss our delightful farmers market here in Parrsboro and also others in nearby communities. You will find local treasures that will have your taste buds revel with wonder and comfort.
